Yes, all alterations are by appointment so I can give each garment the time and attention it deserves. You can book directly through my website or by reaching out via email/socials.
Do you work on formal dresses and special occasion outfits?
Yes! I specialize in thoughtful alterations for formalwear, including gowns, bridesmaid dresses, lenghas, and other complex garments. These items may require fittings and a longer turnaround time, but I’ll walk you through the process from start to finish.
What forms of payment do you accept?
I currently accept cash, card, and electronic payments (Venmo/Zelle/PayPal). Payment is due at pickup.
Do you take custom orders (crochet, Cricut, or sewing projects)?
Yes, depending on availability. If you’re interested in something beyond alterations, reach out with your idea and I’ll let you know if I can take it on.
Do you clean garments before altering them?
I ask that all items are brought in freshly cleaned. This ensures I can work safely with the fabric and that your final piece is ready to wear right away.
How long do alterations take?
Turnaround time depends on the complexity of the work. Simple hems and small fixes are often ready within a week, while formalwear or detailed alterations may take 2–4 weeks. Rush options may be available depending on my current schedule.
Do you only offer alterations?
No — while alterations are the heart of Mo’s Workroom, I also offer creative services like thrift flips, crochet items, and Cricut-based projects. Think of it as a workshop for giving clothing and crafts a second life.
How do fittings work?
For alterations, I’ll schedule a fitting where you bring in the garment and try it on. I’ll pin and mark adjustments, then schedule a pickup or additional fitting depending on the project. Please bring the shoes or undergarments you’ll wear with the outfit for the best fit.
Can you fix items from thrift stores or secondhand finds?
Absolutely! Giving clothing a second life is one of my favorite parts of this work. From resizing to complete transformations, I’ll help you make secondhand pieces feel brand new.
Do you offer refunds?
Due to the nature of alterations and custom work, all sales are final. However, if you’re ever unsatisfied, please reach out — I’ll do everything I can to make adjustments so your garment feels right.
